365/25

Different trajectories form the foundation of my work: related streams that each generate their own series, emerging from the same investigation into structure, time, and attention.

In the 365/25 series, the sequence shifts to a yearly cycle of twelve paintings. A direct relationship between life and work: one act of painting per day, over the course of a year. On January 1st, 2025, a modest gesture began on a wooden panel, gradually developing into an in-depth exploration of time and presence. A demanding rhythm in which each strip is taped off, only to begin again the next day.

What emerges is not a mechanical sequence, but a rhythm of distinct actions shaped by the moment. The hand moves differently each time, concentration shifts, and the time of day varies. It is precisely in these minimal deviations, and in the activation of muscle memory, that a sense of human presence becomes visible.

The work reflects both presence and absence; when a day of painting does not happen, that strip turns black. What takes shape is something that cannot be produced by a machine, but only by a human who chooses, day after day, to be present. It reveals both the pursuit of precision and the acknowledgement of imperfection.
